  1. Huda beauty – a real-deal beauty blogger who was made in Dubai | Top 1

Huda Kattan started her quest as a beauty blogger back in 2010 by launching her blog hudabeauty.com. Iraqi-American Signora is the Founder and Entrepreneur of the Huda Beauty Makeup brand. After quitting her job in McKinsey and Company in 2012, fully dedicated herself to the digital business with her like-minded group of colleagues. She has come up a long way to have massive blog visitors, Instagram 48.7M followers, and Youtube 4.15M Subscribers. Currently, she owns one of the biggest beauty brands in the cosmetic arena.

Not just in Dubai, Huda Kattan is a much-reckoned name in the beauty world across the globe. She is the voice of the Middle East and the Arab world. It wasn’t easy to hit the tops in fame and in business. I had mixed feelings while reading through her interview, where she talked about ‘how she started getting to know herself’ according to Entrepreneur Middle East. Most of us have been through the part where we work so hard on pleasing others, doing things to prove to ourselves, and then end up having harsh conversations with ourselves, asking WHY?

Huda Kattan is lucky 🍀 to have the support she had and her mindset to go big and bold. Her business clearly nudged the world of a lot of bloggers, and it still makes them feel good about what they do, but who said it would earn them the dream money as Huda did. Without a big investment, there is no one to move a finger for you. So who are we kidding, when some bloggers have revealed to me that they have only 1000AED per month for their expenses. But when they go on Television they brag, that they do blogging ‘not because of money! But really, who are we kidding?

  1. Shirin Van Dort ceases Instagram blogging career after reaching nearly 200k followers

Uzbeki Shirin Van Dort is an equally mid-famous beauty, fashion, and lifestyle blogger based in Dubai. Holds BBA & Marketing degree from CUD. An incredible knack for Photography, photo retouching, copywriting, and Digital Marketing. Her self-photography talent makes her stand out among her peers. She has worked with a lot of International & local brands in the beauty and fashion industry in Dubai and Holland.

Why did she quit Instagram?

The main reason why she decided to quit Instagram is that she chose to stop supporting ‘the perfect lifer – Instagram‘.  She believes on the choice of focusing her learned skills on her career is for a greater cause. Shirin says: “Instagram is the most dangerous platform that causes depression, anxiety, FOMO, and psychological damage. It creates certain standards based on unrealistic images that we daily come across without even realizing. Scrolling through Instagram constantly influences your ideas of buying something. The worst part is it keeps haunting you until you do, and it makes you feel lesser if you don’t.  Since I abandoned Instagram, I feel peaceful, least destructed, and at much ease. Now I can focus on my writing and my other technical skills until I find the best suitable job to pursue my real career.”

A new business launch.

During the pandemic, Shirin has started her own online ‘Specialty Coffee – www.theluxurycoffee.com‘ even though her husband never supported the idea (because it wasn’t a profitable business) and actually wasn’t happy about it. But the passion couldn’t be stopped, she still managed to make it happen. As a Certified ‘The Master taster’, she educated and influenced a lot of her friends and audience to switch to specialty coffee. Coffee has more than 800 taste flavors and every morning brewing a fresh cup of coffee is her meditation.

  1. Zeynab is known as fashion_pirate, from a fashion to mommy blogger in Dubai

Zeynab El-Helw, a Lebanese-British native, is a fashion blogger, the curator of @fashion_pirate Instagram channel is one of the reputable names in the blogging industry in Dubai. She is becoming quite famous and growing tremendously because Instagram gave her the confidence that she didn’t have before she claims. It does feel nice to get so much attention and non-stop gift packages at your doorstep. Who wouldn’t feel confident? Tsss. Her Instagram has hit 2m followers.

She quit her job to become an iger!

From former Regional Marketing Director of Christian Dior in Dubai (from 2010 – 2014) to a successful blogger like no one else! I am not going to lie, there are a lot of bloggers jealous of her success. A ‘camera shy girl’ now is a full-time, full hands-on blogger and mother with the second one on the way. Her way of balancing between her motherhood and passion is truly inspirational. Lebanese beauty with a British accent is just a beautiful touch to a whole package that she already is.

Zeynab in person

In-person very warm personality of Zeynab will definitely make you feel fall in love with her. Zeynab got it all. She has very positive energy, is talkative, giggly, and a free soul, which by the way not a lot of ‘wanna-be’s bloggers have! There are so many micro and macro bloggers with super low engagement, whose attitude is ‘over the sky’, they pretend like they don’t know you at certain events, even though they do. Did that ever happen to you? Well, it happens a lot in bloggers’ world, and it happens even for no reason.

  1. Rawan bin Hussain and the backlash from her Instagram follower in Dubai. | Top 3

Palestinian-Kuwaiti Rawan Bin Hussain is a fashion and beauty blogger, and a singer who resides in Dubai. With 5.7m followers on Instagram and 281K subscribers on Youtube, she is another ‘Powerful Arab girl’ in the Middle East. Going through a horrible divorce during the pandemic, from a Libyan husband who was accused of theft left her audience in awe. When a follower attacked Rawan with comments, saying her husband is taking care of her and their daughter with that stolen money, she didn’t even think twice before she dropped the truth, telling the commentator to ‘relax!’ that her husband was not paying for any of their expenses.

 She could go to jail?

The British court has ordered Rawan’s arrest (June 19, 2021, nationalnews.com), accusing her of assaulting her Libyan husband Mohammed Youssef Migairaf. That means that he sued her! Yikes! Maybe he wanted more money from her… According to the news, she has denied assaulting her husband and remains on bail. There is another story that was deleted from her Instagram that her husband was a rapist. He raped her before she finally married him because of conservative traditional reasons, and got pregnant within that toxic relationship. Not all marriages are filled with fairy tales, but these stories are far from being acceptable. Read the full story here.

She is moving on…

Rawan has a beautiful voice and recently started singing. I do really wish her the best. I know she is strong and not alone. Together with her beautiful daughter, they are unstoppable. Check out the first-ever song she dropped here.

  1. Ola Farahat, a bit private, a bit mysterious fashion blogger in Dubai.

Ola Farahat is a Palestinian-Canadian sweetheart born in 1991, and she is currently one of the influential fashion and lifestyle bloggers in Dubai. There is confusion when it comes to her age as one source claims she was born in 1991 and another source claims her being born in 1987. But all we know is that she has a BBA from American University in Dubai and an MBA from the University of Monaco. Linkedin states that she worked as an Accountant in Ontario, Canada back in 2010. Then worked in Monaco as a Strategy Consultant for Laboratoires Forte Farma for a year till 2011. Followed by moving back to Dubai in 2011 and starting working for Deloitte, it is unclear until when, as her Linkedin still shows currently employed.

She is another blogger who quit her job to become a full-time Instagram blogger. She recently got married in a beautiful beach theme. Being a housewife and an Instagram blogger is a full-time job if you ask me. But! If you can’t afford to quit your job to become a full-time blogger, don’t. Because blogging doesn’t earn you a stable income. Until you get there one day.
