  2. 23 Stylish and Sustainable Fashion Brands Versus Fast Fashion

Since the day a human discovered animal skin could be used for clothing, it has been developing and multiplying in the number of uses. Skin is torn, feathers ripped, and animals are caged for life. Wool, feather, cashmere or mohair, no matter where it came from, are all mostly used for fast fashion. Global warming, natural disasters and the admittance of Covid-19 has taught us all great lessons. This list of sustainable fashion brands that made thoughtful steps towards helping our planet are growing in numbers. Governments are increasing rules on ending the use of animal furs on clothing. Canada Goose, a luxury brand, also has announced ceasing purchasing fur by the end of this year. Let’s support sustainable and ethical fashion brands, as where our money goes, drop by drop, supports the planet. We all are part of each and everything that happens around us.

Why Sustainable Fashion versus Fast Fashion?

The fashion industry is a difficult one. Why sustainable fashion versus fast fashion is picking up is, because every designer who strives to use sustainable materials and methods, there’s another designer who deals in fast-fashion which uses less eco-friendly materials and methods. It is not easy for us as consumers to find out exactly where each brand falls under sustainable categories either because of misleading marketing practices or just lack of transparency on their part. The only reason why sustainable fashion versus fast fashion is – our planet is in danger.

The change needs to happen fast and it should start now. Meaning, you, every one of you start thinking of only dressing from sustainable clothing brands.

Every second, millions upon millions worth of clothing goes into landfill or gets burnt because it cannot be recycled properly- and if nothing changes soon enough then by 2050 there will only be 9% left for generations after us! According to UNEP (United Nations Environment Program).
